چکیده
In this paper, a novel design of near-field dipole antenna sensor array for breast tumor detection is presented. The proposed consists four electrically small antennas fed by single port. Due to the proven fact that tumors have higher dielectric properties than surrounding normal tissues, utilized detecting evaluating variations sensor’s response two cases, and abnormal, tissues. A simulation study performed using both abnormal numerical phantoms with different sizes inserted at locations. Simulation results show detected various locations inside phantom due an increased area sensitivity multiple sensors array. An experimental conducted on chicken meat mimics healthy cases including made oil gelatin mixture conductive spheres meat. Experimental has placed

Microwave Sensors for Breast Cancer Detection
Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among females, early diagnostic methods with suitable treatments improve the 5-year survival rates significantly. Microwave breast imaging has been reported as the most potential to become the alternative or additional tool to the current gold standard X-ray mammography for detecting breast cancer. The microwave breast image quality is affected by the...
متن کاملActive Microwave Imaging for Breast Cancer Detection
Active microwave imaging is explored as an imaging modality for early detection of breast cancer. When exposed to microwaves, breast tumor exhibits electrical properties that are significantly different from that of healthy breast tissues. The two approaches of active microwave imaging — confocal microwave technique with measured reflected signals and microwave tomographic imaging with measured...
متن کاملConformal Microwave Imaging for Breast Cancer Detection
An important feature of our Gauss–Newton iterative scheme for microwave breast image reconstruction is that only the heterogeneous target zone within the antenna array is represented using the finite-element method, while the surrounding homogeneous coupling medium is modeled with the boundary-element (BE) method. The interface between these two zones may be arbitrary in shape and position with...
متن کاملUWB Microwave Breast Cancer Detection Using SAR
Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Early detection increases the chances of successful treatment and a patients long term health. Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Microwave imaging is a technique that uses wide bandwidth electromagnetic signals to see through the internal structure of the breast. It detects and localizes cancer tumors based on the high dielectric...
متن کاملMicrowave Imaging via Adaptive Beamforming Methods for Breast Cancer Detection
Ultra-wideband (UWB) Microwave imaging (MWI) is a promising breast cancer detection technology which exploits the significant contrast in dielectric properties between normal breast tissue and tumor. Previously, data-independent methods, such as delay-and-sum (DAS) and space-time (ST) beamforming, have been used for microwave imaging. However, the low resolution and the poor interference suppre...
